Right now in science I've been learning about the difference between a base and acid. Acid-Are chemicals that have 3 basic properties Three basic properties:

The pH Scale= Potential For Hydrogen (each step increases by a factor of 10. ) (The picture bellow is from my science book, Exploring Creation with General Science.) Indicators help to discover if a material is acid or base. A good indicator is purple cabbage water. The first thing I did was boil purple cabbage with water for a few minutes or until the water turned dark purple. Then I pored a little of the water into 6 little cups. To test whether a liquid is base or acid you mix the material with your indicator. In my case (using cabbage water) most likely the water would turn blue in the presence of a base and pink in the presence of an acid. As my testers I used-----and the color turned out to be-----:
