Dad, Mom, & I went to Boone (Iowa). There we went to the Train museum and rode the Boone Train. We got to ride in a caboose. It was not what I expected. I thought it would be more modern but I was wrong. It was old & rustic. Even though it was cold inside the caboose and outside the caboose, it was worth it! We took blankets, and where sure glad for them! All together it was quite an adventure!!! At the museum we watched a video about trolleys.
Here are a few facts about Iowa trolleys: - The first street cars where driven by horses. - Running a horse street car was around 20 cents per mile. - The first horse street cars in Iowa began 1868 in Des Moines & Dubuque. Then in 1869 Davenport, Clinton, & Council Bluffs. - Key City Electric Street Railway ran the first street car in Dubuque.
